Late in life, several years after retirement, and with no Musical Training I bought a brand new Drum Set; proudly joining the legion of Wannabe Musicians. Got an Electronic Drum Set so I can keep the volume down and not bother my neighbors.
Played with Headphones in my Living Room for a while; but then one day I hooked up an old amplifier and speakers.
I liked hearing it without headphones, so I ended up converting a spare bedroom in to a Sound Proofed Music Room, buying all needed equipment; mostly from Amazon, Costco, Sweetwater, EBay, Craig's List, and Thrift Stores.
The style I've developed requires lots of different sounds, so I have all the Rims on my drums set up for various click and pop sounds (I call the sounds "Klinks & Klonks".) That wasn't enough, so I added Cymbal Stackers to add more Cymbals (but have some problems with Crosstalk.)
Still not enough different sounds, so I added an Alesis CompactKit 7 on the far left for still more Klinks & Klonks. The gap between the CompactKit 7 and the drums is reserved for a yet to be built homemade DIY Percussion Instrument. All the Drum Modules (4x) go thru the 12 Channel Mixer at Upper Left.
Foot Pedals: 2 Double Basses, a Single Bass, and 2 Hi-Hats. (Hint: You need to play barefoot (in socks) to know what pedal you're on.)
